Mission Statement Throwaway snoops around the bottom drawers of celebrated musical theatre writers for neglected works possessing depth, immediacy and bite, and reconsiders them for a modern audience.
Throwaway enjoys a turbulent relationship with musical theatre, seeking works where guts trump glitz and the mind is as vital as the heart. We believe that musicals are primarily a theatre of desire in which songs express worlds of love, longing and ambition which words alone cannot convey.
In our search, we stumble across works by talented, new writers and are committed to developing them for a wider audience.
